We got back to CHLA late last evening via medical flight & ambulance. Sounds exciting, but it was actually a very long, tiring, and emotional day for Andrew. He was in PICU but just got transferred to his regular floor (4th).
Other than being tired, emotional, and homesick, Andrew finally seems mostly back to himself today, for which we are so incredibly thankful to God. (He is trying to control the numbers and set alarms off by changing his breathing pattern.)
The goal seems to be to get him home as soon as possible. We are waiting on visits from neurology, but we have good news about his Orlando MRIs. The radiologist in LA was able to look at it, so Andrew can forego his scheduled MRI on Monday. I’m guessing we would not go home until at least tomorrow knowing the pace of large hospitals.

We are extremely exhausted, but given how he is doing today, we are feeling optimistic that he won’t have any major long- term issues from the seizure and brain swelling. There is still a lot of basic recuperating to do.
